Founded in 1981, Sundance Institute is a nonprofit organization that discovers and supports independent film, media, and theatre artists from the U.S. and around the world.

Director/Screenwriter/Producer Alfonso Cuarón speaks with director/screenwriter/actor Cory McAbee during the 1998 Screenwriters Lab. 

Cuarón is a longtime Sundance alum, attending the 1993 Sundance Institute Guadalajara Mexican Screenwriters Lab with his project Strawberry Kiss, serving as a creative advisor during the Directors and Screenwriters Labs and juror for the Festival, and screening multiple films at the Festival including Y Tu Mamá También.  

Alfonso Cuarón’s highly anticipated film Gravity stars Sandra Bullock, who directed Making Sandwiches which premiered during the 1998 Sundance Film Festival, and George Clooney, who produced the 2005 Festival film, The Jacket.

Gravity opens in theatres on October 4.
